Muzej Marton najavljuje novu izložbu pod nazivom JUGENDSTIL, koja će biti otvorena 20. travnja
2012. g.

Na izložbi će biti predstavljena remek djela primjenjene umjetnosti iz prestižnih inozemnih i domaćih
muzeja (Muzej primijenjene umjetnosti u Beču, Muzej primijenjene umjetnosti u Budimpešti, Muzej
za umjetnost i obrt u Zagrebu) kao i dosad neizlagana djela zagrebačkih privatnih kolekcija.

Jugendstil (secesija) je jedan od najznačajnijih stilova u povijesti umjetnosti, nastao kao reakcija
na historicističke stilove 19. stoljeća. Karakteriziraju ga dekorativnost, ornamentalnost, naglašena
linearnost i biljni motivi. Vrhunski radovi ostvareni su upravo u području primijenjenih umjetnosti:
oblikovanja predmeta svakodnevne upotrebe od porculana, stakla i srebra, u dizajnu namještaja i
interijera, u arhitekturi.

Posebno intrigantan dio izložbe bit će javnosti rijetko prezentirani erotski crteži Roberta Auera (1873-
1952), hrvatskog slikara secesije i moderne. Svojim školovanjem i stvaranjem u Beču i Münchenu,
odnosno SAD-u, Auer je bio pripadnik i međunarodnih umjetničkih krugova. Opus tog talentiranog
slikara prelijepih aktova i portreta u svijetloj paleti i toplo-hladnim kontrastima boja, sadrži i opsežan
ciklus crteža erotske tematike u duhu tadašnjeg vremena – istovremeno prikrivene i pretjerane.
