From June 14th till November 9th, 2010 Marton Museum presented its collection of Vienna porcelain in the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna in the exhibition named Parchtware. Porzellane des Klassizismus aus dem Marton Museum in Zagreb.
It is a great honour that in the year in which the world celebrated the tercentenary of the production of porcelain in Europe, Museum Marton was invited to hold a special exhibition in Vienna, one of the centers of european porcelain.
The exhibition featured the Viennese porcelain of the Neo-classical era, the so-called Sorgenthal period, from 1794 till 1805. Tableware, show-piece cups, déjeuners and biscuit porcelain figurines presented a cross-section of the aestheticaly and technicaly inovative period of Neo-classicisam.
The exhibition was held under the patronage of the both presidents, Austrian, Mr.Heinz Fischer, and Croatian, Mr. Ivo Josipović.
A lavishly illustrated catalogue in German accompanied the exhibition, authored by Mrs.Claudia Lehner-Jobst.
