Fragile Harmony, Iparművészeti Museum, Budapest, June 16 - September 11, 2011
The Iparművészeti Museum in Budapest, Hungary, will be the host of the new exhibition of Marton Museum titled "Fragile Harmony". The exhibition will showcase a representative selection of Viennese Neoclassical porcelain from our holdings.
Marton Museum boasts an exceptionally fine collection of Vienna porcelain, with the special emphasis on the pieces produced under the directorship of Conrad von Sorgenthal, which are in the focus of this exhibition. Porcelain of French manufactories, including Sèvres, as well as Russian porcelain, together with silver and glass from the holdings of Marton Museum will be included among exhibits, providinig associative accents to illustrate the aesthetic sensibility of this epoch.
The exhibition will be opened on June 16th and will stay open till September 11th, 2011. It will be accompanied by an illustrated catalogue authored by Claudia Lehner-Jobst, Annette Ahrens, Selma Schwartz, Aileen Dawson and John Whitehead.
